Only three days to go till Rome and I'm practising the tambura like crazy! This will be my debut performance on the tambura and I must admit I am feeling a little nervous. I will be heading out to Rome with the New English Orchestra to do a series of concerts in the Pantheon from August 20th-24th.
I will be performing my piece, Makedonska Mama with an exciting line-up of talented musicians, including Amy Chidley and Rebecca Eaves on violin, Hannah Cawston on cello and Sarah Stuart on tarabuka. Rehearsals have gone very well - they are all true professionals!
This is the first time I will be joining the New English Orchestra on their Rome tour and I would like to thank their conductor, Nigel Swinford, for inviting me and believing in me. It is a privilege indeed to be a part of the trip and I have long believed in and loved the work that they do - I'm looking forward to it very much.
